Boriexpress
About This Spot
Stepping into Boriexpress feels like entering a small corner of Puerto Rico nestled right in New Britain. The rhythm here is unhurried and genuine: families chatting softly by the counter, a steady stream of neighbors picking up warm plates to go, and the comforting hum of a kitchen devoted to tradition. It’s a humble, takeout-only spot where the pulse is set by the pulse of the community rather than the clock.
There’s a warmth in the air — not just from the food, but from the earnestness of the people who run this family-owned gem. Though the menu flexes and changes like a well-loved recipe book being carefully rewritten, familiar aromas of slow-roasted pork, crisp plantains, and golden tostones invite repeat visits. This is a place where every bite holds a quiet sense of home, a reminder of the simple joy found in shared cultural roots and lovingly prepared meals.
At Boriexpress, portions are generous, and while the line might gather inside during busy moments, the wait feels like part of the ritual rather than a chore. Service carries a mix of growing pains and genuine hospitality — a sign of a budding local treasure still finding its perfect stride. Here, the heart of Puerto Rican cooking beats steady and true, offering a spot where food is less about fuss and more about creating connection over rich, soulful flavors.

Best Puerto Rican food around. Hot, fresh and never disappoints. Clean kitchen. Nice family.

The food, amazing. The service, pathetic. Good Customer service is already hard to come by, and I’ve visited before when they were super friendly and engaging.

Gem of a place that apparently only opened a few months ago. They are a small family-owned business that truly puts their heart and souls into their food. You can tell they are still getting into the groove of things and they don't have posted prices, but they do change the menu every few days. This restaurant is takeout only and it can be tight to wait in line inside, but when we went it wasn't busy so we were helped immediately. I bet they will be successful in the long term. The woman at the counter was kind and the food delicious. We recommend the pernil, rice/beans, tostones, and sweet plantains!

Best pernil, carne guisada, yuca, and amarillos I’ve had in New Britain. The food was fresh and delicious, and the portions were generous. I also tried their alcapurria — it was tasty, just didn’t have much beef. Worth every dollar. 10 out of 10 in my opinion!

Great Food! Great Service! Great Everything! I wish this place was open years ago! I will be back before the season is over.
